FZIP

Finally a ZIP program that can use ALL cores and ALL CPU's!

About FZIP

I really got frustrated with a 24 core computer and waiting on most ZIP utilities to compress large files. So I built one that can run in parallel, ideally use this on SSD/NVME machines to avoid disk swapping.

USAGE

FZIP -compress <file>
FZIP -uncompress <file>

*Please note this is currently just to compress and uncompress single files at the moment. If you want to compress a folder tarball it first.
e.G

To compress a folder
tar cvf file {folder}
fzip file

To uncompress a folder

fzip -uncompress file.fzip
tar xvf file
